Ezentia 10 mg
Ezentia containing the active ingredient Ezetimibe is considered a cholesterol absorption inhibitor. Ezentia works by preventing cholesterol from being absorbed from the small intestines into the bloodstream. It can be used alone or along with an HMG-CoA reductase inhibitor or statins type of medication to treat high cholesterol which can help prevent strokes and heart attacks.
Ezentia is usually taken orally once per day or as directed by a doctor. Ezentia can be taken with or without food but should be taken with a drink of water. Contact a doctor for the correct dosage and length of treatment as it will depend on the patient's condition and their response to the therapy. If the patient also requires taking a bile acid sequestrant, it should be taken 2 hours before or 4 hours after taking the bile acid sequestrant.
Side effects such as: headaches, dizziness, diarrhea, stomach pain, excess gas, excessive fatigue, funny or stuffy nose.
Contact a doctor immediately should side effects persist or encounter more severe side effects such as: jaundice, signs of liver problems, chest pain, difficulty breathing or swallowing, back or joint pain, unusual muscle weakness.
Immediately proceed to your nearest emergency department if you suffer an allergic reaction. Symptoms usually associated with such a reaction include difficulty breathing or swallowing, chest tightness, swelling, skin rashes and hives.
